Working-From-Home Wins, Tea Addiction & TikTok Tantrums
Hello Soulbounders!
I’m writing this with a cup of (cold) tea in one hand and a half-eaten biscuit in the other—because, well, I forgot to eat lunch again. Why? Because I’ve officially started a new work-from-home job that I absolutely love! It's flexible, fulfilling, and has honestly done wonders for my work-life balance... aside from the minor issue of occasionally forgetting that I am, in fact, a human being who needs actual meals. Small price to pay, right?
One delightful side effect of working from home? I have a new teapot. Yes, this is a capital-D Development. I’m now a fully committed tea person. Like, "drinking so much tea I fear I may actually become a teabag" levels of commitment. There’s just something so cosy about sitting at my desk in the evenings, editing or working away, with a warm mug beside me. It’s my new personality trait, and I’m not even mad about it.
In other exciting news, I’m thrilled to say that Book Two is still on track for publication in December 2025! I’m keeping everything crossed (including toes, which makes walking fun) that everything stays on course. It’s such a joy to continue this journey, and I can’t wait to share more as we get closer.
And speaking of sharing—guess what? I’ve got a summer holiday booked to visit my family in Greece, and I am beyond excited. There’s something magical about going back to my hometown—sunshine, sea, laughter, and yes... Greek food. Let me tell you now: forgetting to eat while I’m there? Absolutely not happening. I am completely and unapologetically obsessed with Greek food. I will be eating my body weight in spanakopita, souvlaki, and anything involving feta. Expect plenty of photos and food envy over on Instagram and TikTok.
Yes, you read that right: I have a TikTok now. And yes, I love it. And also, yes, I loathe it. Because apparently, TikTok’s algorithm and I are in a complicated relationship. I post, I hope, I dance (not really), I pray... and the algorithm gives me five views and a shrug. But hey—I’m still learning, still laughing, and occasionally yelling at my screen like an old person trying to reset the Wi-Fi. It’s a journey.
Instagram, by the way, has been a little creative playground for me lately—I’ve been experimenting with new content, trying out reels, behind-the-scenes peeks, aesthetic snapshots, and generally making a mess in the best way. Some of it’s actually turned out super cool (if I may say so myself), and I’m loving the chance to share more of my process, thoughts, and general chaos. Come say hi!
Lastly, I have to mention the amazing reception to the audio demos for Book One, brought to life by the incredibly talented Brandon Francis at Peak Narration. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and I’m so grateful for all the love. Honestly, I’ve been playing Brandon-as-Isaac on a loop like it’s my personal audiobook playlist—and no, I’m not even sorry. Lowkey obsessed? Maybe. Deservedly so? Absolutely.
Thanks, as always, for being part of this journey. Whether you’re here for the books, the updates, the tea addiction, the Greek food passion, or the TikTok chaos, I appreciate you more than you know.
With love & gratitude
Effie

Not visited my Instagram for a while? There’s loads of new content, oh, and I dyed my hair. I am officially in the Brunette club now!
