Life Lately: Chaos, Gratitude, and a Little Holiday Magic
If life had a writer’s room, I’m convinced my script would be filed under TV comedy—we just haven’t reached the funny part yet.
One of Dobby’s favourite things to do is go for a walk, so we can not wait till he is fighting fit and ready to get back out there!
The past few months have been a whirlwind at home. I’ve been juggling a thousand plates, and as a result Book 3 in The Soulbound Series is officially on a short hiatus. The biggest reason? My little sausage dog—my loyal writing and reading buddy—Dobby. He suddenly came down with IVDD and had to undergo surgery. It’s been heartbreaking and stressful for all of us, especially the kids, but after a tough road he’s finally starting to come back to himself. With rehab and therapy, he’s slowly learning to walk again, and watching his determination has been both emotional and inspiring.
Add in complications with moving house—yes, I really did throw out my sofa and somehow 90% of my belongings are either gone or in storage… including the Christmas tree—and let’s just say it’s been tense, messy, and more than a little exhausting. But we’re hanging on.
We’re getting ready for the Christmas festivities in our own slightly chaotic way, and honestly, I’m just incredibly grateful for everything and everyone I have right now.

With Thanksgiving approaching, I wanted to give a little something back. So I’m thrilled to announce that Book One in the Soulbound Series—You & Only You—is now available on Kindle Unlimited!
Even better, I’ll be teaming up with a bunch of insanely talented indie authors for my very first SYK (Stuff Your Kindle) event on December 20th & 21st. Alongside You & Only You, an entire lineup of fantastic romance authors will be giving away their books for free. We’re talking mafia romance, enemies-to-lovers, paranormal monster romance, and so much more.
Make sure to check out my Instagram for all the key info—you absolutely don’t want to miss this!
Here’s to healing, holidays, and heading into the new year with hope. 💛
With love and gratitude,
Effie
