Family, Fun, and a Touch of Inspiration: My Recent Greek Getaway
The Great House Move: Almost There!
I even managed to do some reading. Here I am at the temple of Poseidon in Sounio, a place Lord Byron himself once visited.
As you may remember, I mentioned a while ago that I was moving houses—well, it’s finally happening! I’m at the stage where everything is getting signed off, and soon enough, I’ll be getting the keys. But let’s be real—while I’m knee-deep in mood boards, home furnishing catalogs, and Pinterest boards (much to my husband’s dismay), I really needed a break. Cue: a family vacation to my hometown in Greece.
Sun, Sea, and Too Much Food
I ate my weight in Greek cakes and sweets. Yum!
We packed our bags, loaded up the kids, and headed for some well-deserved R&R in my little village in mainland Greece. During this trip, we visited family, caught up with old friends, and indulged in way too much food (as you do in Greece!). One of the highlights was a visit to the small island of Aegina. Imagine this: crystal-clear waters, sun-kissed beaches, and wild goats, deer, and peacocks roaming around. It was absolute paradise. There’s something about the serenity of that place that really let me unwind and recharge. It got even more entertaining when a deer decided to raid an unsuspecting family’s picnic basket! It ended with the whole family armed with a flip-flop to chase the cheeky creature off. It was a scene straight out of a comedy, but hey, that's Greece for you—wildlife knows no boundaries.
A Much-Needed Reset Before Book Two
This trip was also the perfect reset before the big launch of You & Me, Always—Book Two in the Soulbound series! The vacation gave me the space to clear my head, reflect, and dive back into the writing process. And trust me, with the release coming up soon, I am SO ready to share it with all of you.
