A Dream Home, A New Book, and a Whole Lot of Dust!
Hello, lovely readers!
I’ve got some big news to share with you, and I am honestly buzzing with excitement and just a bit of nervousness (okay, maybe more than just a bit). For the first time ever, I’ve signed up to take part in some book fairs in 2026! Yes, you read that right—2026. That feels so far away, but I know it will creep up on me in no time. So i am currently researching table banners, how to set up my signing desk-the whole nine yards. It is fun, if not also a little daunting! These fairs will be in the heart of the Northwest of England, with events in cities like Leeds, Liverpool, and all across Yorkshire. As an indie author, it’s a little intimidating to step into a big, bustling event with a table full of books, but I’ve been dreaming about this moment since I started writing. The thought of meeting readers in person, signing books, and chatting about the stories that mean so much to me makes my heart race in the best way. I’m hoping to be selected, of course (fingers crossed!), and I will keep you all posted as soon as I know for sure. I really hope to see some of you there!
Until then, keep your eyes peeled for more updates as this adventure unfolds. I can’t wait to share it with you all!
A sneak peak before the building works begin. I can’t wait to show you some before and after shots. This will be the library and it might just be my favourite room in the whole house!
In other news and on a personal note, I’ve been dying to share with you, some big news! I’ve been holding off until everything was finalized... and well, it's finally happening! I’m moving into my dream home. Yes, you read that right—dream home. It’s everything I’ve wanted and more (spoiler alert: I’m already planning a Pinterest board for all the things I still need).
Now, here’s the twist—while it’s my dream home, it’s a total fixer-upper. When I say “fixer-upper,” I mean, it’s basically a blank canvas right now… one that includes a lot of dust, construction work, and very loud power tools. Yes, I know, the timing couldn’t be more interesting, because I will be surrounded by planks of wood and paint cans, whilst getting the second book in The Soulbound Series ready to launch. Talk about juggling, huh?
I’ll be living amongst the chaos, and I’ll admit—there when I will no doubt wonder what I haven gotten myself into, but when I think about the finished result, I know it will all be worth it. And maybe—just maybe—I’ll use it as inspiration for future stories.
She will always be my baby girl, no matter how big she gets!
Lastly, and this one’s a little more emotional for me… I can’t believe my daughter has finished her first year of high school. Time is absolutely flying by, and I swear, I’m not ready for it. I hate it. I really hate that my babies are growing up. Every day it feels like they’re getting older, and I’m over here wondering where the time went. I don’t really like to celebrate birthdays for myself anymore, I am a bit like my idol Mariah Carey on that front. But, honestly? I wouldn’t trade any of it for the world. Watching her grow, and seeing her achieve things like this—well, that’s a privilege.
