A December to Remember: Stuff Your Kindle, Quality Family Time, and Looking Ahead
Here is a selection of some of the amazing authors who took part in the SYK event.
December has been a month I’ll be carrying with me for a long time—in the very best way. Between an incredible author event, a much-needed pause to focus on family and health, and a surge of new readers and followers, it has truly felt like a season of reflection, gratitude, and quiet celebration.
Stuff Your Kindle Event
I have had the absolute honour of taking part in the December Stuff Your Kindle event, a two-day celebration of indie authors and readers. For anyone unfamiliar, Stuff Your Kindle events bring together independent authors from across the romance spectrum and offer free ebooks so readers can discover new stories, new voices, and new favourite tropes. This particular event featured an amazing range of genres and tropes, including why choose, sports romance, LGBTQ+, fantasy, contemporary, and more.
I was thrilled to represent my favourite tropes—paranormal romance and enemies-to-lovers—with Book One of The Soulbound Series, You & Only You. The response was overwhelming in the best possible way. In just two days, You & Only You was downloaded 706 times.
Knowing that so many readers welcomed my story onto their Kindles is both humbling and incredibly motivating. I’m so grateful to everyone who downloaded, shared, and supported—not just my book, but indie authors as a whole. Big shoutout to my readers in Japan! I see you! 💖
We stepped into Christmas by going to see the new Avatar after a spot of lunch!
The Countdown to Christmas
Outside of writing and events, December was also about slowing down and prioritising what matters most. As I continue recovering from a recent period of poor health, I made a conscious effort to rest, recharge, and enjoy meaningful family time.
We visited Christmas markets, soaked up the festive atmosphere, and made space for family traditions, which included going to the cinema. We watched the latest Avatar movie together, and it was exactly the kind of reset I needed, and I’m incredibly thankful for the patience, support, and love of my family during this time.
Looking Ahead to 2025 Events
While I’ve been resting, there’s also been plenty of excitement quietly building behind the scenes. I’ve started ordering merchandise and preparing for upcoming book fair events, and I can’t wait to meet readers in person:
HEA Book Event – February 28th-Aintree Racecourse, Liverpool
Book Bonanza Manchester – April 18th-location TBC
These events are such a highlight for me, and I’m so excited to bring The Soulbound Series into the real world this year.
Thank You for Being Here
Finally, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has followed, liked, commented, shared, or supported me on Instagram and TikTok. The recent influx of new followers has been both surreal and deeply appreciated. Every interaction means more than you know, and I’m so grateful you’ve chosen to come along with me on this wild ride.
Here’s to new readers, new stories, better health, and an exciting year ahead. 💜
